The ASAT® Bass
Once the ASAT guitar was released in 1986, it didn’t take long for Leo Fender to apply this body shape to a bass model. The ASAT Bass is essentially the classic G&L L-2000 bass, a game-changing bass developed by Leo Fender in 1980, packed into a single-cut ASAT body shape, with a narrower 1 1/2″ nut width to help bring balance to the instrument. The result is a bass with all the power and flexibility of the L-2000 in an iconic body shape loved by bassists around the globe, including Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith who has played one since the ’90s and now has his own ASAT Bass Tom Hamilton signature model. With a pair of G&L Magnetic Field Design humbucker pickups and the G&L tri-tone active/passive electronic system, featuring a 3-way mini-toggle control for the active preamp with three settings: off, on and on with high frequency EQ boost, the ASAT Bass has plenty of sonic flexibility, making it ideal for just about any style of music from Rock, to R&B to Funk.

Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith has been playing the G&L ASAT Bass for over two decades because of its tone, and the way it performs both in live performances and in the recording studio. The Tom Hamilton Signature ASAT Bass comes in the iconic single-cutaway ASAT body design in lightweight Western Sugar Pine and is available in three finishes: Red, Blue and Turquoise Metal Flake with a silver double-faux binding. The JB

Kiloton
Delivering bright and punchy tone with tons of power! The key to the Kiloton’s explosive tone is the aggressive Magnetic Field Design G&L ‘MFD’ humbucker pickup in the bridge position. The Kiloton is built for simple, straight forward functionality with a passive single humbucker MFD pickup, a single volume and tone control, and a 3-way mini-toggle switch that allows you to split the MFD humbucker coils, giving you three distinct pickup voicings. The L-2000 Series
In 1980, when Leo Fender unveiled the L-2000, it was clear that the tonal versatility of this bass would make it a real game changer going forward. Featuring a pair of L-spec G&L Magnetic Field Design (MFD) pickups and the tri-tone control system which features a trio of mini-toggle controls for pickup selection, series/parallel signal routing and active/passive operation. Add to this mis a trio of control knobs for volume, treble and bass and you have a highly versatile Bass with the tone, power and playability suitable for any style of music.

Another classic G&L bass, the LB-100 is based on the P-style body shape and Alnico V pickup design pioneered by Leo Fender in 1950‘s and 60‘s. M-2000 Series

SB-Series
When the SB-1 was introduced in 1982 it combined a familiar p-style shape and styling with innovative pickups and bridge designs. As it evolved, Leo Fender added the innovative G&L MFD split-coil pickup with the newly designed Saddle Lock bridge system and by 1985 the SB-1 and SB-2 models that we know today had taken their place in the landscape of hardworking passive pickup basses. Fender’s core innovations -- the MFD pickup and the saddle lock bridge -- set the stage for many of the improvements that G&L would introduce in the coming years, but nothing would change the hardworking reliability of the SB series basses.
